Day 26 – New days are ahead. We know that the peak of this virus is still emerging around us, and we’re trying to get through.
New days can bring… drive-by birthdays, sitting with your son or daughter teaching him or her a new hobby, sharing in a song together with friends via Zoom, making face masks until the hours pass endlessly, placing hearts in your windows to remember the health workers facing the virus surrounding the walls of their hospital.
This is what a new day can bring.
New days can also bring the loss of a loved one, not by the virus, but the natural cause of death. Or a new diagnosis to a loved one who you can’t be near or close to due to the stay at home shelter. New days may bring depression or anxiety in overthinking with so much time on our hands.
This is what a new day may bring.
I look out the window to see clouds billowy and fluffy in the distance while my dogs run around freely, barking and chasing birds. The sun is out, glorious and warm, and the breeze moves the leaves of a nearby tree.
This is what a new day looks for me. I’ll take it. I’m grateful to sit here and see the beauty in my midst. Tomorrow, maybe there will be rain and dreariness, and I’ll sit and view the change which brings the cold and puddles. Even then, I’ll take it and realize that this is temporary until the sun comes again.
A new day is coming for us. It will be unfamiliar, but the change will be more in us, in our appreciation of what and who surrounds us. It will be joyous and make us want to stay as our new selves, and we’ll look back and wonder what exactly were we doing. How did we miss what was so important?
What will your new day look like? I hope it is filled with great memories and love between your family members.
Stay blessed everyone…I look forward to each new day❤️
